2018 TASH Conference has ended
Each year, the TASH Conference brings together a diverse community of stakeholders who gain information, learn about resources, and connect with others across the country to strengthen the disability field. This year’s conference theme, “Be Creative - Innovative Solutions for an Inclusive Life,” reminds us to think outside the box during times of uncertainty. Creativity, innovation, and determination can pave the way for meaningful and inclusive lives for people with disabilities.

Cardinal Stritch University
Assistant Professor
Milwauke, WI
I have been working with districts and schools, both nationally and internationally, for well over 15 years in the area of inclusive education capacity building and systems change. I began her career as a K-12 inclusive education teacher and moved into the role of consultant working with families, teachers, and leaders across the globe facilitating effective inclusion for all learners, paying special attention to those who are typically marginalized and segregated, such as student with intensive support needs. Currently, I serve as an Assistant Professor within the College of Education and Leadership at Cardinal Stritch University, teaching advanced graduate courses related to student diversity, inclusive education, research methods, equity, and educational foundations. I received my Ph. D. from the University of South Florida within the departments of Educational Leadership/Policy Studies and Special Education. The focus of my studies and dissertation was multi-dimensional capacity building for effective inclusive school and district reform. I actively research and publish in the area of school systems and leader/teacher capacity building for inclusion. An example of my work, among others, is published with the International Journal of Inclusive Education, Educational Justice for All: The Capability Approach and Inclusive Education Leadership. I have co-found two TASH chapters: WI and FL, and is taking on re-invigorating WI as we speak and have 3 children and a nephew and 2 nieces, one with significant and complex support needs (4 Q deletion syndrome and autism).
